Brunswick Girls Softball League will be holding tryouts for our Travel Program. We will field 1 team at each level and a second team if there is enough interest. Tryouts are the second and third week in August and the season runs from August thru July. If your child makes the travel team they must sign up for Fall Ball. As the teams will be playing together during the Fall Ball season. Players are required to attend at least one of the tryout dates for the level they wish to play for, to be selected on the Travel Team. It is recommended that the player attend both tryout dates but it will not affect whether or not they are selected for a team if they cannot attend both dates.
Tryout Dates are as follows:
16U – 8/8 & 8/15
14U – 8/9 & 8/16
12U – 8/10 & 8/17
10U – 8/11 & 8/18

Age is determined by what the child will be on 12/31/2016.
*Your child does NOT need to tryout, if they want to just play Fall Ball.
Fall Ball registration for 7u (Ages 4 -7) is now open until Thursday September 1, 2016, 11:59pm. Please go to https://brunswicksoftball.siplay.com/ to register, the cost is $35 for this year.
This will also help with the transition from T-ball to Mini Minors and give the younger players in Mini Minors a chance to improve on their skills. ALL games are played at Brunswick Softball fields. Games will be played by COACH pitch Mini Minor Rules, 7 pitches or 3 swinging strikes for each batter.
ALL games will be played on Saturdays, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24 & 10/1
Fall Ball registration is now open until Sunday August 14, 2016, 11:59pm. Please go to https://brunswicksoftball.siplay.com/ to register, the cost is $65 for this year.
There will be 2 games that will be played on the each of following Sundays, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25 & 10/2.
Fall Ball is a little more competitive than Rec, players learn more advanced skills and there is traveling to other fields in the Capital District. Not all games are played at Brunswick Softball fields.
There will be one team at each level consisting of the Travel Players and the rest of the teams will be filled in with Rec Players.
If your child makes the Travel Team they MUST play in Fall Ball, no exceptions.

Our travel program, The Brunswick Blitz is now taking applications for Team Managers for the 2016-17 season. The Travel season runs from August thru July, beginning with tryouts and continuing with Fall Ball (Players selected must play on the team during Fall Ball) . Managers are responsible for reporting to the Board status of their team and their funds, are required to hold practices routinely to ensure the team maintains being competitive, promote sportsmanship, apply for entry into tournaments throughout the year, collect monies from parents and conduct fundraisers to raise money for uniform expenses and tournament expenses, participate in the Hudson Mohawk League and resolve any issues with the team before they escalate and the Board has to step in as a mediator.

OPEN TO GIRLS 10U (Ages 5-10) IN THE LEAGUE
THURSDAY JULY 14TH, WEDNESDAY JULY 27TH
GAMES: WILL BE 1 hour GAMES
TIMES: 6:30-7:30 P.M.
The games themselves will be timed (1 hour) not played in a 6 inning
format. This will keep the pace of play fast and each inning exciting. A
conventional 3 out format will be followed as well as “Sand Lot” rules
introduced. Coaches will be pitching and there will be no walking in
order to help create an “offensive” environment! All players present will
play a defensive position with a pitcher and catcher.

DURING SUMMER MONTHS
Brunswick Softball is offering Pitching Clinics for girls who are either inexperienced or experienced pitchers.
This is an affordable way to have our girls get some professional coaching in the Art of Pitching. Its also a great way to find out if your daughter wants to try out pitching.
The pitching clinics with be instructed by the 2016 Section 2 Class AA Champion and the 2016 Section 2 Coach of the Year, Ballston Spa Scotties Head Coach, Amanda Fifield.
There will be 6 days of clinics with three 1 hour sessions. On the following days:
7/25, 7/28, 8/1, 8/4, 8/9 & 8/11
You do not have to sign up for all the days, we understand other events are going on during the summer. Just add the clinic days that you want to your shopping cart and please identify which session times you prefer (pick 2 for each day).
5:30pm – 6:30pm
6:30pm – 7:30pm
7:30pm – 8:30pm
Registration ends the Thursday prior to each clinic and the cost of each session is $20.

The Brunswick Girls Softball League has received that that there is interest in a second 12u Travel Team. In the interest of fairness the players that were not selected on the 12u”A” team over the summer have been asked if they would like to play on this second Travel Team. The team is still looking for additional players. There will be a tryout on February 27th, 2016 from 3-4pm at the Latham AllStars Academy. In order to tryout the player must be 12 or under as of 12/31/2015. All those that are interested are asked to show up at this date/time in order to be selected on the team.
